WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

About

The International Tang Soo Do Federation™ World Championship is a tournament held once every two years in different parts of the world. This tournament is open to all those who practice Tang Soo Do within the International Tang Soo Do Federation™. The tournament directors and all those involved take great care to provide an exciting day for all those who participate.

This year the Federation was excited and proud to be holding its 13th World Championship in Portugal's captivating capital city, Lisbon. Many participated in this 4 day event where International Tang Soo Do Federation™ members from all over the world gathered in one place to share their Tang Soo Do spirit.

Congratulations International Masters, Instructors, Students and Families!

I hope you enjoyed Lisbon and had a safe trip home. I had a good time with everyone. I came back with a great feeling and cannot wait to see you again! It is unbelievable how much effort and hard work you give and demonstrate to me. I hope you are back to training hard.

I look forward to the 14th World Championship in Texas in 2016 and the seminar in our new Training Center!

To all I.T.F members including Masters, instructors and students who attended the 13th World Championship, thank you for a wonderful time.

As the ITF General Secretary, I have been involved with many tournaments, seminars and clinics all over the world, and I must say that I enjoyed this one the most.

I must thank Sa Bom Nim Costa and her husband for all their hard work and the entire Associacao Portuguesa de Tang Soo Do and its students for their hospitality.

Although some of us did not speak any Portuguese, we were able to overcome this with our Tang Soo Do spirit. The events ran smoothly and were well attended. Those who attended were ready to work and were hungry to develop their Tang Soo Do knowledge. Because the tournament ran smoothly, we were able to finish on time (a rare thing). Additionally, the competitions were great.

Again, congratulations to all of Portugal and Sa Bom Nim Costa. Congratulations to Choong Jae Nim. I know that this championship was harder to organize than all the others. Congratulations to all the participants who truly made this a wonderful time.

2014 HALL OF FAME AWARD

Master Wynford Williams

Being selected as a candidate for the Hall of Fame is something that I have never considered. It is something people like Bu Choong Jae Nim Joe Goss are considered for - somebody who has not only talked the talk, but also walked the walk. There are so many of my seniors who I will not embarrass by naming who contrubute so much to the Federation. These people also deserve this recognition, so receiving this nomination is humbling. People have often asked what it takes to get to 7th degree Black Belt: my reply is simply don't quit! So if this award is for those that have not quit, then I guess it is for me. In all seriousness, to receive this recognition from those who I respect and admire is an accolade that I will always cherish.
